Questions about Shopify
Is it really free?
Yes. The Free plan costs US$0 and doesn't expire: it includes 50 conversations a month in your store, and the counter resets on the 1st of each month. At 50, the chat politely tells the customer it can't take more questions right now, asks for their contact details and emails them to you.
What counts as a conversation?
Each new chat a customer opens in your store. Messages within that conversation don't count separately, and a conversation that has started isn't cut off even if you reach the limit.
What does the Standard plan add?
No conversation meter, the documents and links you want to add on top of your store, and automatic WhatsApp replies. It costs US$29 a month with a 14-day trial, and Shopify bills it on your invoice. You upgrade to Standard from the app itself.
Does it see my customers' orders?
Yes, on both plans. It answers where an order is and its tracking, after checking with the email and one other order detail that the person asking is the one who placed it. It doesn't change or cancel orders.
Can I pay in euros?
Yes, if you sign up on this website: €29 a month including VAT, or €200 setup and €10 every 3 months, and you paste one line into your theme. From the Shopify App Store, Shopify bills it in US dollars.
